Oktoberfest A Success!

For our first attempt at dog biscuit sales, the Oktoberfest craft show in Lee’s Summit, MO last weekend was a success!  We offered beef, veggie, chicken parmesan, pumpkin and peanut butter dog biscuits and cookies in both large and small sizes.  On Friday we sold out of peanut butter, chicken parmesan and pumpkin biscuits!  Not to be left with empty jars for the show on Saturday, I went home and baked more of those three types of biscuits that night.  I was up until 3am!  It was worth it because by the end of Saturday we were sold out of beef, veggie and pumpkin (again!) and had sold quite a few chicken parmesan and peanut butter biscuits.

We wanted to donate 10% of sales from Oktoberfest to local shelters.  At the end of both days we had $167 in sales, which equates to $16.70 in donations.  Well I just rounded it up to an even $20 and mailed the check off to Animal Haven today.  Animal Haven is a special shelter to us because it is where we adopted our Lefty!

We are very much looking forward to Craft Patch, which is coming up in about six weeks.  We hope to offer a wider selection of dog treats, including dog cupcakes and cookies with dog-safe frosting (yumo for the dogs).  I’m sure Lefty and Rosco will enjoy taste testing our recipes over these next six weeks.  We would also like to offer at least one type of cat treat as well.  Cheddar, Polly, Bruiser and Callie have all happily volunteered to taste-test the cat treats for us.

Please come out to see us at Craft Patch on November 30th and December 1st at John Knox Pavillion in Lee’s Summit, MO!
